Message from our Regional Director – Sept 2019
Dear Sisters and Brothers
Grace upon grace has been poured out on us as a nation, a people called by God‘s own name, Trinity “Trinidad”. The tremendous blessings to know we belong to the Trinity, that Father is “our Abba”; the Son our Brother, Jesus; the Spirit, the vitality and energy of God himself. From our history we know that we were enslaved, broken, poor and needy, but now in this time, we can say we are the people of God, the work of His own hand, a nation that can celebrate its independence and total dependency on Its God – Happy Republic Day! For you, in the heavenly realm, there are praises ascending and grace descending for each person of our community and the nation at large, young or old, poor or rich, a song of praise ascends and grace comes down. Receive and be blessed.
The 40 days of Prayer is a special blessing for our nation and as we conclude this time we want to continue to take Mary as our mother and trust in her intercession. She is the mother of us all. The procession on her birthday, 8th September, will be an obvious witness of our love and respect for the Mother of Our God, and our mother too. Let us turn out and walk the walk of witness and faith with our rosaries in our hands: “O Mary mother of God pray for us.”
As we come to her for help, we must not forget the state of our sisters and brothers in Venezuela and the constant cry for help. We were blessed by a visit from Bishop Jaime Villaroel Rodriguez of Carupano, Venezuela, bringing to our nation words of gratitude and thanks. Let us continue to rise to the needy. It is the disfigured face of God that we see in the poor, the violence, the marginalized, it is Jesus that we touch. Let us continue to love with all our hearts and soul and be blessed. Do as the Holy Father invites us, to go out and heal. Let us live our baptismal commitment.
The Pontifical Mission Society Congress later this month will be a very interesting event enabling us to understand our part in our Church today. Get involved and go out to the Congress, more about this from your parish or the community.
Blessings on you and your family for a new term as we end the holiday season. Blessings especially on our youth setting out to new schools and University. May Mary your mother keep you safe in her love. Receive the tremendous blessings of your God………Rose
